The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Method is a unique communication and problem solving technique that encourages participants to build 3D metaphorical models in response to specific questions designed to probe deep into the participant problem solving capabilities. We utilize an intentional selection of LEGO bricks that are ideal for creating models. These models make the foundation for conversation, reflection, and discussion.
Unlocking New Knowledge.
The LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method is based on the belief that we all possess knowledge that is “locked” or inaccessible through conventional means of communication. By constructing models participants “unlock” knowledge, and produce more meaningful responses than they would in an ordinary discussion. The models themselves are NOT the primary objective, rather the learning that comes as a result of reflecting and sharing the models, is what yields the “new knowledge.”
No Instructions Provided
Unlike traditional LEGO building, where detailed instructions are provided, the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method does not have pre-determined outcomes. All building is done without instructions. As a result, participants do not need to have previous experience building with LEGO bricks.
