How it Works
The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method is a unique communication and problem-solving technique that encourages participants to build 3D metaphorical models in response to specific questions, designed to probe deep into their problem-solving capabilities. We use an intentional selection of LEGO® bricks that are ideal for creating models. Those models become the foundation for conversation, reflection and discussion.
Unlocking new knowledge
The method is based on the belief that we all possess knowledge that is “locked” or inaccessible through conventional means of communication. By constructing models, participants unlock that knowledge and produce more meaningful responses than they would in an ordinary discussion.
The models themselves are not the primary objective. The learning that comes from reflecting on and sharing the models is what yields the new knowledge.
No instructions provided
Unlike traditional LEGO® building, where detailed instructions are provided, the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method has no pre-determined outcomes. All building is done without instructions — so participants need no previous experience building with LEGO® bricks.
